How often should you service your Volvo?

Kampala’s dust, heat and traffic are harder on a car than the manual assumes. Here is a realistic servicing rhythm.

Volvo publishes service intervals for ideal conditions. Kampala is not ideal conditions — dust, heat and stop-start traffic all shorten the life of oil, filters and fluids.

As a rule of thumb we suggest an oil and filter service more often than the book, a brake and suspension check twice a year, and a full inspection annually. It is cheaper to catch a worn bush or a weeping seal early than to wait for it to fail.

Keep the record. A stamped, honest service history protects the car’s value and makes every future diagnosis faster because we know exactly what has been done.
