Pattern parts look cheaper on the invoice. Here is why they often cost you more within a year — and where it is safe to save.
It is tempting to save money with a cheaper pattern part, and sometimes it is fine. But on the parts that matter — filters, sensors, cooling components, suspension — a poor copy fails early and takes other things with it.
A cheap water pump or thermostat that fails can overheat the engine. A weak aftermarket sensor throws faults that send you chasing ghosts. The saving on the invoice disappears the first time you are back in the workshop.
We fit genuine Volvo parts by default and tell you honestly when a quality equivalent is a sensible choice. The goal is the lowest cost over the life of the car, not the lowest line on today’s bill.
